It has been an exciting four weeks here at Utopia with all of our new friends joining our community.
The children have been exploring the classroom and many that returned this year noticed all the changes the teachers worked on before the new school year began. Teachers have offered many different materials in all the interest areas hoping to observe the children’s interests. One of our newest additions is our letter box and the children are so excited to visit the writing table everyday to continue their work!
We look forward to learning more about the children and their families through the children’s “All About Me” books that teachers have started to offer to the parents to make for their child! This is a great way for the children to make deep relationships in the classroom in order to be fully successful in our program. We believe that young children’s learning begins with relationships and these books are an important tool for all of us. Teachers will also have a book where children and their families can learn more about us.
Our Journal Wall is also a great tool for parents to learn about what is being offered to the children everyday! We encourage all families to visit this space so that the connection between home and school is a strong one. Teachers will work on these journals along with their observations with the children. This is a work in progress and we appreciate your patience as we begin this journey with the children. We look forward to this new school year with all of our children and families as we are very excited to begin this journey in entering into the children’s world of learning!
