Utopia Preschool

Today was a very special day as we celebrated our grandparents and special guests. We were so happy to those who came to share in the fun and make the day meaningful for everyone. The children were especially excited to sing and perform for their grandparents and guests. They proudly shared two songs, "Boomdiyada" and "Zoom Zoom Zoom" filling the room with smiles and laughter. Throughout the celebration, families enjoyed spending time together creating memories through hands-on activities, including making magnets, decorating kitchen towels with drawings and stamps, visiting the photo booth, and sharing time together while eating and chatting. Today reminded us how special these moments are for everyone in our school community. Thank you to all the grandparents and special guests who joined us and helped make this day so memorable. We had a wonderful time celebrating together!

Last week, our classroom focused on what it means to learn and grow together. As we honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we talked with the children about fairness, kindness, taking turns and used these ideas in the way we work, play, and care for one another each day. Through small and large group experiences, the children practiced listening to each other's ideas, sharing materials, and working as a team. In music class,they explored creating music as a group and moving their bodies together learning that cooperation, patience and respect helps everything flow smoothly. They discovered that when everyone's voice is heard and respected, we can create something bigger and beautiful together. These everyday moments help build a caring classroom community where everyone feels valued.

After transforming our Dramatic Play area into a jungle, the childen shared ideas about what animals eat, where they sleep, the sounds they make and imagined life deep in the jungle. To enhance the experience, we played jungle sounds, dimmed the lights, inviting the children to listen and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the jungle. Also in the Sensory Area, the children continue their jungle exploration using green and yellow rice with trees to create their own jungle scenes, supporting imaginative play and sensory discovery.

We are so happy to welcome the children back to school as we begin the new year together. The classroom is once again filled with laughter, curiosity, and familiar routines as everyone settles back into the rhythm of the day. After time away, it's natural for children to miss their teachers, friends and special moments that make school feel like a second home. We've loved seeing the joyful reunions, thoughtful convesations, and gentle reconnections happening throughout the classroom. Here's to a happy, healthy, and meaningful start to the new year. We're so glad to be back together.
