Utopia Preschool

We had such a fun day celebrating Halloween with our friends, teachers, and families. We first watched the big kids put on a halloween performance, went on a parade around the school, had a dance party, and ate a special snack. The teachers also dressed up as characters from Inside Out 2!  Thank you families for making this day extra special! Happy Halloween! 

We had such a great day at Lemos Farm on Tuesday. We hopped on a yellow school bus all the way to Half Moon Bay to ride ponies, jump in the bounce house, and run around the playground! Huge thanks to all of our chaperones for helping out and for Teacher Ronnie who got to come with us. We appreciate all of you for making this a safe and memorable trip for all the children.

Last week we had another special visitor spend time with us! Niccolo's Mom, Alessandra, treated us to three stories in Italian during Circle Time, one of them including a song called  Il Caffè Della Peppina ! Niccolo helped his mom read the stories to us, describing the pictures and laughing along the way. Thank you Alessandra for sharing some of Niccolo's favorite books with us. 

On Monday, we had a special visit from Jaeda's dad, John. He read us an interactive story called Don't Push the Button by Bill Cotter. This book was perfect for our monster drawings and stories that the children have been making this week. The children had to use their imagination to create a monster. What shape is it's body? How many eyes/legs/arms does it have? What is it's name? This silly activity encourages the children to draw and write, hold a marker appropriately, while spending time at the table on a focused activity.  Check out photos of John's visit and the children's monster drawings and stories.
