We love watching the children build worlds and fantastic ideas with a simple cardboard box. "Get in the rocket ship!" - Logan "This is our house!" - Regine "Can we tape it together so we can both fit?" - Geronimo  "We're monsters in a cave!" - Cayden "We are neighbors!" - Aiden Dramatic play serves as a way for children to pretend and create, while learning important social emotional skills like cooperation, relationship building, flexibility and resilience. We had an Easter Egg Hunt this Tuesday, put together by our co-room parents Alejandra and Rae! The children worked together to find eggs hiding all around our yard. Each child also decorated their own bag to take home the eggs. Thank you Alejandra and Rae for organizing this special event together for us! The children had a great time. We also had some egg-cellent activities in the classroom this week. The children mixed and matched eggs in the Sensory Tub, decorated giant eggs, and made egg color patterns! We had bunny grahams as a special snack this week too. Have a Hoppy Easter, Utopia!   

Michelle's mom, Zenaida, visited this week to read us a book called The Little Butterfly That Could by Ross Burach. This story is about a butterfly who is learning to persevere through challenges!  After the story, Michelle and her mom led an art activity where the children got to make a butterfly themselves. This was a chance for each child to choose their colors and show off their cutting and gluing skills. We were so impressed at how the children followed each step carefully and kept on going even when it was hard, just like the butterfly in the book. Thank you Zenaida and Michelle for such a thoughtful and fun activity for our friends at school.

We hosted our first paint night for our parents this Saturday! Our very own Teacher Cassie guided our guests in painting a sunset scene, accompanied by some yummy snacks and drinks. Thank you parents for spending a few hours of your weekend making art with us! Special thank you to Alejandra for putting together the delicious and beautiful charcuterie boards.
