My Dad "Rocks!" Fathers and Special Guests Day

Image
We had the best time at our Fathers and Special Guests celebration today! The children welcomed their guests with a song "If You're Happy and You Know It" in the classroom before heading over to Caroll Hall for our event. The children used rocks to make a portrait of them with their guest, took photos at the photobooth, and finished a shrinky dink keychain that they started earlier this week. They also enjoyed some snacks with their special people. The children also got to show their guests the "All About My Guest" paper that they worked so hard on this week at school.  We hope everyone enjoyed their time with us today and made some memories together. Big thanks to all caregivers and loved ones who help your little ones grow into the incredible people that they are.

The Utopia Preschool Talent Show

Everyday we have set up a space outside for the children to play a variety of percussion instruments and show off their talents! The children took turns signing up for a slot to perform songs, dance, and sing. All of the skills they've learned in music class this year has paid off as we notice the children play their instruments carefully and on the beat. They also learn to support and cheer on their friends as they perform! We love hearing the children jam out and enjoy being together.

When I was younger I would... but now I can...

We are near the end of the school year and we are reflecting on all the growth that the children have made. This week we asked the children to think about how they have changed since they were little. Their answers were surprising and so thoughtful! Writing and answering journal prompts not only strengthens writing skills, but encourages the children to think about their own identities and how to express themselves.  Layla: When I was younger I would say, "Goo goo ga ga" but now I can talk! Kalina: When I was younger I had short hair, but now I have long hair.  Kenzo: When I was younger my mom would carry me, but now I can walk. Jaeda: When I was younger I would crawl, but now I can walk!  Surya: When I was younger I would sleep in a crib, but now I sleep in a bed. Aiden: When I was younger my mom would wash my hands, but now I can wash my hands. Mia: When I was younger I would watch TV, but now I can read books. Isabella: When I was younger I would take naps, but now I c...

Field Trip to the Bay Area Discovery Museum!

The children have been counting down the days to our field trip and now we are here! We started off our morning on a bus ride up to Sausalito. This was many of the children's first time on a school bus! We had the best time exploring all the exhibits, using the play areas, and making art at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Thank you to ALL our chaperones for helping out on this busy and exciting day.  *Please send us the large group photo if you have one!
