Creating Safe Rules

Today the children were busy building car washes in the block area! As they were building the children discussed what they knew about car washes. They came up with a variety of answers such as, "water" ,"the cars line up", and "they go slow". At one point there were so many children that the cars started to go faster and crash into each other. One child had an idea to make a sign for the rules of the car wash and made a sign that said "no crashing".  Other children quickly followed suit and before we knew it, the block area turned into the "sign making" area. This was a fun way to for the children to practice their writing skills in the block area!
